Great, lightweight hiking boots

These boots rock - I have three pairs now. They are great for me, but have some limitations, depending on your intended use. They are the hiking boot version of a climbing shoe - light, thin sole, lace to toe, fit like a glove. The limitations are the thin sole - not a lot of padding, if that is important to you; and cold in snow and ice, although some nice wool socks may compensate. Also, the lace to toe can pinch over the toe bridge if not adjusted properly - you gotta fiddle with the lacing tension till you get it set up for your foot and then it's good. The upside of these features is they are very nimble and responsive. I use them for tree climbing, hiking, and all-round backcountry scrambling and arbor work. The Gore-tex makes them waterproof/breathable, and assures high quality constriction (Romania). Some slight break-in to get them shaped to your feet completely, but comfortable right out of the box. True to size.
