Love these BOOTS!!!
Reviewed by Trekker One from California on Thursday, January 5, 2017
I got about 1,200 miles out of my first pair and about the same from the next pair. I had the second pair re-soled which I would not do again....made them much heavier even though the new sole was much meatier. This last pair wore out in a bit less but we were trekking on more road than dirt which I think had a big impact. I hear they are being discontinued and am trying to get 2 pairs before they bail. The Flame has a very nice heel cup which helps with ankle stability huge time. Most people complain that they are way too stiff and they are for the first 200-300 miles then they become your best friend. Buy extra laces though as the metal eyelette/hooks are tough on them if you run your boots tight.

- “Super boot for those that may need a little extra ankle support”
- “So far so good! My previous pair of hiking boots were Asolo and lasted over tens years and I put a lot of miles on them! But I like these boots way more than the previous because they are lighter (surpriseling light) and more ergonomic. I have narrow feet and these fit well. I have been romping around in deep snow this winter and they are keeping my feet wam and dry. I also like the sole because it isn't a Vibram sole. A lot of people like Vibram because its durable but I have found that the traction is awful on wet, cold surfaces! The traction on these is great and the are crampon compatible.”
