I got these prior to a hiking trip in Glacier National and broke them in the city to make sure they'd be no trouble. On our first hike, we planned staying up in the mountains for 5 or 6 days, so were carrying a considerable amount of weight in food and water for a day. Perhaps these are not made for such long hikes. I started feeling my feet burning mid-hike up. My whole sole was covered in blisters and I could feel my knees as well. Next day we had to move on to our next camping site which was about 18 miles away. No way possible. My feet got worse with these boots and the lack of support hurt my knees a lot. We decided to descend instead. I almost couldn't do it so painful it was. I've hiked so many times in my life and this has never happened to me. This was my first time trying Asolo and I'll never try again. I think the boots are nice for flat, short day hikes, but definitely not for backcountry hikes. It cut my trip short and I had to get a pair of Merrells at a local park store in order to recover my feet. I called Sierra Trading Post about it, but they will not accept used items returns anymore. I understand that people will take advantage of returns, but was disappointed with it. I'm stuck with a pair of boots I'll never wear again and will definitely think twice before purchasing shoes from Sierra. If I had had the same problem with other stores I purchase from, they'd have accepted the shoes back.
