BACKPACKING BOOT

True to size. Comfortable sturdy boot. It is probably a good idea to "train" the boot by walking around town before taking a demanding hike under pack load. Good support; nice stride. Fairly light weight for a boot.

I buy a size larger than street shoes and use layers of hiking socks and liners to avoid abrasion and stubbing.

Because of the eyelet, hook design for the laces, the boot is a little harder to get on and off than other comparable boots such as Vasque Sundowner where laces slide more freely. But this is a minor point.

With Vibram soles the grip is good and long wearing. These design boots tend to fail when the gore tex liner leaks upon fatigue or when the soles wear our or become unglued. Ususlly after years of use. Only time will tell how well it stands up to hard use; but the reputation of the brand is good.
