My bad: not Gore-Tex

This is my 6th pair of Asolo boots, but the first ones not to be waterproof! Sloppy buying on my part: I just assumed everything in this price range from Asolo would be Gore-Tex. Confusingly, Asolo does make a Gore-Tex Neutron model. I would have gladly paid the $20 premium for Gore-Tex, if I had noticed that there were two models at the time of purchase.

Otherwise, this is a nice boot. Good support and good traction (I now only buy Asolo's with Vibram soles). I have been using heavy, leather Asolo boots for greater support, but at 54 years, my foot is expanding, so the softer synthetics seem to be the way to go for now. I garden and landscape on very rocky, steep ground for hours at a time, so a good boot is essential.
