“What is the correct product to treat the Perwanger leather?”

  • Sorry mate, in Kansas I don't often run in to enough water to have had to treat my powermatic boots. I have been climbing trees in them for 4 months and I found they are still nicely watertight .

  • hand soap and warm water, then any waterproofer you like, awesome boots, going on a 54 mi trek with my son starting tomorrow, will be wearing power matics

  • I dont know for sure but, I always soak new GORE-TEX boots with pure spray silicone then wear them until the soles fall off. never had a problem with the leather.

  • You can brush off leather, either dry or with water or water with neutral soap.
    Let the shoes dry at ambient temperature (this is very important, heat sources will fast-dry leather and ruin it)
    In the end, from time to time you can use silicone-based sprays to renew the waterproof treatment.
