Not one piece leather, not as stiff

These are nice boots. They are very light weight for a leather boot. The ankle has a The to it which makes them very comfortable right out of the box.

They are not one piece leather. I thought they were but i didn't look at all the pictures. There is a seam on one side just below the third eylet. It is double stitched, but seams always make me nervous, especially near a flex point.

I feel these are a great backpacking boot if you are hoofing it on non rock covered paths and carrying a medium load. If I knew I was going to be faced with endless scree, then I would probably choose something else. I feel they wouldn't afford enough protection and aren't stiff enough for that kind of work. The leather isn't quite as thick as my other Asolos. I am on the fence with these. They fit me really well, are very comfortable, and are very lightweight, but the seam has me worried and I fear they aren't as tough as my powematics or my old gtx 520s. I will fill my pack with gear and wear them around the house...perhaps that will give me an indication if they are the perfect boot for my needs.
