Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Love them. Bought a second pairReviewed by Bikila from CA on Thursday, October 11, 2018Bought the older model (Mantra) a few years ago. They're just great. The sole won't last forever-- don't mind at all and don't mind having a red pair and a blue :)
Not good for hiking. Sole to narrow.Reviewed by Alex from O.C. California on Monday, October 8, 2018The shoe seems really well made and feels good out of the box.
Did notice the sole width is narrow, but thought it should be ok. Well, while hiking I noticed a lack of lateral support on rocky/gravel. The ankle wants to roll on you, lucky for me I'm experianced enough not to get a sprain.
Would recommend the shoe for style and quality, but not for any type of hiking or trecking.
Great all around shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Patrick from New York on Tuesday, October 2, 2018My second pair of Asolo's 1st pair lasted almost 5 years and I still wear them
Comfortable shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by petemalk from rhode island on Monday, October 1, 2018Got these to replace a similar pair of Scarpa's. Both are narrow, although these Asolo's are not as narrow...very comfortable out of the box.
Good quality shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by mande from Iowa on Monday, October 1, 2018I am pleased with the quality of the shoe. I did not find any obvious concerns for this product, assuming they are factory seconds or surplus item.
comfy trail shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dennis from Indiana on Wednesday, August 29, 2018I had worn a pair of Asolo low cuts and loved them but after 2 years my feet had grown a half size and the toe box lining was frayed from my toe nails. The soles were not worn very badly and if my foot had not grown I would still be wearing them. The gortex works great when I am washing my cars an motor home and the soles are great on any surface they are self cleaning if you are in mud or sand and are stiff enough to walk on rocks and pebbles that would be painful in a lesser sole. They are well made and fit my foot well and it measures between a B and C width. D width Redwings are a bit wide but still wearable. The Asolo's are true to length. These Shivers seem to cradle everypart of my foot with just the right amount of support. Hopefully they will hold up as well as my last pair. I am not a hard core hiker and stick to trails less than 3 miles in length. I like the blue color a lot Elvis would probably like it also. I bought my first Asolos for an extended trip in AZ and NM, Ut they had great traction on various rocky trails.
exceptional shoeReviewed by potter from CA on Thursday, July 12, 2018i work in a CA native plant nursery and am on my feet all day. Fell in love with the waterproof and styling of the Asolo Mantra and was so disappointed when i learned that they were being discontinued. In need of another pair of waterproof shoes i searched Asolo once more at STP and Shiver GV popped up. These shoes fit like a glove, just like the Mantra did, i use my own orthotics and my feet are in heaven. i have purchased 6 pairs, did i mention that i go through a pair a year, with more to add to my list. Best shoes, great stability, truly waterproof, great support.
High quality/narrowVerified Buyer Reviewed by B.W. from NC on Saturday, July 7, 2018Work great for me....I am a 12B by most makers and Asolo (os-lo) have fit great in all three models I've worn: Shiver, Mantra and Agent. They provide the narrow/relatively low volume fit that works for me when paired w/ light to mid weight socks. Also quite comfortable sockless. I've found these shoes to be long wearing and the gore-tex construction keeps my feet dry without noticeable bulk or unwelcome warmth. Although, the model names change the fit has been consistent. ExcellentVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ratch from Montana on Monday, May 14, 2018This is my second pair of Asolo boots
They are everything I need in a shoe
I did have to add insoles to this pair
Comfortable QualityReviewed by Scott from New Hampshire on Sunday, May 6, 2018Really comfortable shoe and appears to be very high quality construction. Sizing seems right on mark as well.

“It says narrow, is the toe box narrow or just a narrow fit?”
Just kinda tight fit overall, but you can adjust with laces to kinda mold to your foot. I haven't really worn mine yet, because I purchased in winter. Your feet won't be sliding around inside them, put it that way.
For me the toe box is not narrow, all in all a good shoe. Hope this helps
I don't think there is anything narrow about this shoe; it is the most comfortable approach shoe I've owned.
We currently only have this item in a medium width.
“Do these run narrow of fit to size? I have a wider foot than average”
No they fit like a normal shoe. The toe box is nowhere as wide is keen, but very average. I hope that helps.
According to our fit team this item is running true to size.
