Great PantVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bill from WV on Tuesday, July 3, 2018Great lightweight pant. Comfortable material, fit and sizing accurate except as folks have noted the leg length, about 4 inches too long but we will just cut them off and make a hem mid calf. These are backpacking pants so not too concerned about aesthetics.
Well worth the price and the insect shield is a bonus.
Nice fabric, true to size on the waist, comically long on the legsReviewed by Jesse B from Connecticut on Monday, June 11, 2018I ordered these, hoping to replace an old pair of convertible pants, that also had insect repellent in the fabric. The are nice, EXCEPT for the fact that the lower legs are rediculously long. They claim a 32" length. They are AT LEAST 36", if not more.
Good quality, made well, fit well, just was too short for a 6’0” sonVerified Buyer Reviewed by C Comfort from California on Monday, June 11, 2018This pair of pants fit well, look good, is a nice color, but was too short for being 6 foot tall.
They work!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Float On from MN on Tuesday, June 5, 2018My husband bought 3 pairs. He works outside in tick territory. He has worn these for a couple of weeks now and hasn't found a tick on him yet. The pants are really light so he stays cooler in them than jeans. The waist and length seem right on. Some people mentioned that the oddly small belt loops are not useful and they are right. My husband often uses a multi-tool and is trying to figure out how to carry it- he doesn't think the small belt provided will hold it for long. Overall, he really likes them and would buy more.
Very long pantsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Troutster from Iowa on Thursday, May 31, 2018Great product, but very long. Light and BugStopper fabric. Took them to alterations place to have 2.5” taken off legs. As shorts, very comfy. No bug bites!
Avalanche Insect Shield PantsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bernie from VT on Wednesday, April 11, 2018Great fit, trim and neat.
Way too baggyReviewed by JMando from Maryland on Thursday, January 18, 2018These pants are comically baggy. The 32" waist fit fine, but the pant legs were very baggy. Like, very very baggy. I laughed out loud when I looked in the mirror.
the long and short of itReviewed by Waltzing Matilda from Washington on Monday, January 15, 2018These pants are way too long. My husband wears a 36/31 pant, and these are 4 ½ inches too long. I am going to cut the extra length out of the calf, and sew them back together as hemming them is not possible with a zipper. He loves them as shorts. They are light and well made.
Nice Pants but Very LongVerified Buyer Reviewed by Locomotove from Connecticut on Tuesday, December 26, 2017I bought these for the Insect Shield treatment. However, these pants are very long and as I type this, they are at the tailor being shortened. The pants are also baggie, but that's okay as I plan to use them for cold weather hiking and will wear down pants underneath them.
Good, but very lightweightVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mountain Lover from Colorado on Saturday, December 16, 2017The pants are very lightweight, mainly good for tropical areas. Insect repellent quality was helpful for Central America trip.

“What material are they made of... ? considering getting them for someone taking a trip to Costa Rica so would like water repellant and quick drying...”
lightweight, quick-drying nylon, bug repelling, with exceptionally long legs so might want to take along some rubber bands so you are not walking on the bottoms of the pants. long is good as they do not ride up exposing your leg to bugs when you sit or squat. Being nylon they are somewhat water repellent but do not have any DWR coating

“how long is inseam on a size 34 waist pants?”
The pants are 32", the shorts are 10".
Comically long. I just received a pair of 36/32 (supposedly) and they are AT LEAST 36/36. Waist sizing seems about right, the lower legs are a joke.
“Does this pair of pants come with mesh brief ”
According to information listed under the product Overview: Elasticized waist with breathable mesh liner and included webbing belt offer a customized fit
