Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by Daisy's mum from Indianapolis on Saturday, March 25, 2017We have this duvet cover, in queen size, in the pale, creamy beige-ish shade that is Barbara Barry's color name "Silver Birch", or something similar. Just thought a report here, on this item in color White, might help inform a shopper. A white cover is always nice to have, esp, for summer (or even a winter look!), to go nicely with either other all white shams, bed linens, throw pillows, or to be background for colorful accessories.
This cover is the same high quality fabric and workmanship we've found in all the Barry products we've purchased over the years. Very smooth, almost silky (but still nice cotton, so nothing too slippery!), and pretty much easy care. The buttons for closing don't slip out of the buttonholes, either.
Machine washable, and if you take the duvet cover out of the dryer right as it's dry, and put it on the duvet/comforter, then the wrinkles are minimum. Right out of the package, you'll see wrinkles, however, just letting it rest for a few weeks, most of that just smooths out ... of course, making the bed every day, and smoothing up the fabric of the cover, is what helps most in the wrinkles dissipating.
There's a nice detail of some stitched lines on one section of each side of the cover. And, the cover is big enough that the end of the length of it, at the bottom of the bed, can be tucked under the mattress, which helps keep it in place, esp. when making the bed. I've never understood why some consumers complain long and loud that a duvet cover doesn't fit their duvet/comforter snugly. Having the extra fabric means covering the bed's sides nicely, as well as having a length of cover to tuck in at bottom of bed.
