Foot won't fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by SJB from NC on Monday, April 9, 2018The neoprene foot opening is terribly small. Impossible to get your foot inside without a decent fight.
Nice construction but a bit tightVerified Buyer Reviewed by Dave from Ohio on Tuesday, March 27, 2018I had to swap out a thinner insole from some Hi-Tec boots to give my feet more room. I bought them for hiking in some areas where my feet may get wet in slightly cold weather and figure the neoprene liner will serve like a wetsuit to keep my feet warmer. They fit me awesome if worn without socks, but with socks were restrictive before I changed the insoles.
Fantastic ShoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by TheForestCity from Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, March 3, 2018I bought these a couple weeks ago and have been wearing them since. They feel very well built and sturdy. Excellent leather exterior and rubber as well which was used for the bottoms. They slide on nicely and feel comfortable all day. I am honestly very impressed and will probably by another pair of Barbour shoes at some point.
Sole not grippy on slick surfaceReviewed by Anonymous from Texas on Thursday, February 22, 2018I didn't realize the uppers are synthetic faux leather (on my brown pair--apparently the grey is fabric). They look good and feel great out of the box. A couple of reservations: I'm not sure the upper will wear well in terms of the finish. Not leather and the color seems to be coming off with wear. I know leather shoes need to be polished too, but I don't think these will wear as well appearance wise as leather. Also the sole looks like it should be grippy, but it's not. I walked out on my slick patio and my feet flew out from under me. Lucky I wasn't hurt.
Strange ShoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Savana from St. Louis on Wednesday, February 21, 2018The shoe does not open up; it's like a tight neoprene sock. Getting you foot in is an s.o.b., especially at first. The laces are redundant. I think they are for looks. I think they will be good summer shoes without socks.
KeepersVerified Buyer Reviewed by Thunderpants from Western Gate on Thursday, February 15, 2018Worth more keeping than the $22 i’d get back after shipping. Very well made and fit great. Neoprene is strange. I do not know what sport they were designed for. I’ll just put them on and see where they take me.
Setting the Bar...bourVerified Buyer Reviewed by Troutbum from Lexington, KY on Monday, February 12, 2018This is a really a great shoe. I have the grey ones and they look great. The shoe walks the line of being a casual/cool shoe. These shoes work great with jeans and an oxford shirt. An earlier review destroyed the shoe based on the difficulty of getting the foot in the shoe. The synthetic sock like material that creates the shoe opening is a little tight the first time I put these on, but certainly not tighter than some of the other shoes that use the same feature. I did however feel a bit of stiffness in the right shoe near the toe break which pushed on my big toes when in the stepping position. This "break-in" period only lasted a day. For the incredible price, these shoes are worth it. Barbour is a reputable company that creates great products. In my opinion, this is one more great product.
luv emReviewed by JJ from NJ on Saturday, February 10, 2018I wanted a slipon athletic shoe that diu not look nerdy- these are them! They feel and look great, though getting in is a bit of work, though better than tying laces. My only fear is the heel colllapsing, so I am being very careful........ Got a LOT of compliments on them.
Can't Get Your Foot Into The Shoe!Reviewed by GMW from Eastern Shore of Maryland on Wednesday, December 6, 2017This is a great 'LOOKING" shoe and appears to be well made. However It has faux lace ups, in that it has a piece of elastic webbing where the tongue of the shoe should be. Consequently you cannot open the shoe up to slip your foot in. You must grab the tabs on the back and the elastic web of the shoe, and try to force your foot into the shoe. When I put on a pair of shoes, I don't want it to be a frustrating exercise, I just want to put on the shoes! I literally could not force my foot into the shoe. Unfortunately I had to return the shoes, which is a shame because the are well made, good looking shoes which some designer messed up with his "brilliant" elastic concept!.
