Reviewed by likes quality stuff from upstate NY on Friday, March 4, 2016This is a real sweater. Soft warm wool that keeps you warm. If you like turtlenecks this one is fantastic. Can't udnerstand the need for the small "holes" where the thumbs go, but you don't notice it. Wore in 20 degree weather and it was A-ok in keeping warm. Highly recommended (neck was slightly tight but not a problem). Size should be ordered one up (if you're large you need EX LG and it's pretty good fit).
Reviewed by oldowl from Phila. on Saturday, December 5, 2015Very warm sweater. Fit is good. My size is 42-44. Order the X-large in white. Just purchase the brick red.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Average American Apparel Shopper from USA on Monday, November 9, 2015Heavy cable-knit where there's no skimping on wool. The fit directions to accommodate for the UK sizing appear to be accurate. Looks good with a pea coat over-layer.
This sweater is for the coldest days.
The hand warmers at the sleeve ends appear unusual but it's a pretty good idea when one needs to use their fingers and still maintain some level of cold protection for the hands. if it gets in the way, just rolling the sleeve up works.
The manufacturers touts proudly that they are commissioned by "Her Majesty's Government" to make this sweater (and others) for the British Navy. I would imagine that it gets quite chilly out there in England and the surrounding areas, so there's considerable expertise evident in the making of this sweater. Tally ho for the item and STP sale pricing.
