Love the hat, didn't like the jacket

I had originally ordered through the catalog, a size L, too small for my 7 5/8 melon. I got lucky and found 2 xl's in the Ft Collins store. This has a feature the old Bob Allen hats from the Midwest had, a flip over blaze orange section sewn into the lid. With a flip of the fabric, you can go from blaze orange to all camo. This is a handy feature to either "go camo" or "go blaze" depending on which day it is.

Fabric has a stretchy pull, ear flaps are just enough, if they were 1/2" longer, it would be perfect but they do just cover your ears with a stretchy type fabric, not cotton. Gore-Tex should shed the rain.

It's not a nice soft hand, not boardy, with a bill insert to keep it stiff, but it's almost a foldable hat to stuff in your pack.

We haven't had any weather to try it in cold, so can't comment about how warm. I'd expect matched with a Maxit™ headgator or Phunkshunwear™ headgear, you'd be set for a pretty stiff wind. There is enough room to get one of these up under the hat which is a big deal to keep your noggin warm in a stiff Wyoming wind.

Kind of pricey, but the flip over feature is valuable to me, and finding a big enough hat to fit oversize eggheads is getting harder and harder.
