Verified Buyer Reviewed by Inpatient of zipper from Utah on Wednesday, February 1, 2017Liked everything about this jacket (quality and features) But the front zipper is not only on the left side but is very skinny and narrow. I had trouble connecting it at the bottom and the tiny parts were a struggle to mate together and pull up the zipper. Having experienced zipper problems in the past I was not willing to fight with this jackets zipper so I returned it.
Reviewed by Eastern Sierra Wanderer from Venice, CA on Monday, November 28, 2016If you don't mind a left handed zipper, this is an awesome jacket. Was going to buy the MH Ghost whisperer until I saw this deal. It is about 3 to 4 oz. heavier than the MH Ghost whisperer, but In my opinion this is a better jacket. Don't be a weight weenie It has superior and loftier 850 FP hydrodown which is 100% goose down, unlike the MH 800 FP. The Hydrodown is also a little more water resistant than the MH GW Q Shield from what I have read. The green is a nice color, Usually a deal like this you will get a funky color. I don't mind the lime green lining, but wouldn't want it on the outside.
The design that went into this jacket is great. I really like the performance and feel with less down on the sides and under the arms. I have worn it here in Venice, CA at only down to 50 degrees F with cool breeze, and it is super toasty and the pertex feel is luxurious. Did not have cold spots and was all around warm. It was actually raining that day but did not feel the need to test water repellency. I trust all of the reviews I read online regarding that.
My only concern about this or any lightweight jacket, is that I'm rough on stuff. But the more money I pay the more careful I am.... usually. Also, regarding prior review, I did not see any loose threading. One small piece of excess thread was snipped, but the stitching is solid. I could not afford this at full price, and is still not cheap on sale, But it really is an awesome jacket. And I feel an incredible deal!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Nate from Sacramento, CA on Thursday, March 3, 2016Purchased this as a replacement for a Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer, as this jacket has better down, and is a much better fit for me. I am 5'8'', 175 lbs, purchased the large size.
Only down side is that there are some stitches that are clearly working their away apart from the fabric.
