Reviewed by DougR from Utah on Sunday, July 3, 2016This jacket is definitely tear and abrasion resistant. Could not ask for a better outer material which looks like real fabric and not glossy like some others. It has a matte look to it. The color in the picture though is not representative of the actual color which is a shade darker. Definitely more blue than purple. Comes with HydroShell Elite Pro which is 100% waterproof. The hood is also very nice as it is reinforced at the front so it stay in shape and will not cause water drips to drip on your face. Best shell jacket I've ever owned.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by 6gillshark from Pac NW on Sunday, June 5, 2016I bought this jacket for my wife to use on our annual fall skiff trip up to Haida Gwaii. The weather that time of year is typical PNW, with as good a chance of sun, as there is of a week of heavy rain. Since our skiff is a small, open craft, and we don't like to curtail our explorations for rain, I thought I would get her a nice outer layer that would prolong the time that we could enjoyably spend in the rain.
The Tower Hydroshell might have been that jacket, but it was too small in the chest, arms and shoulders, so we sent it back, and the search continues. My wife typically wears a women's medium, or a men's small, and this women's medium just didn't have the room inside for additional layers. My wife is not particularly busty, so the sizing problem is a bit of a puzzle.
