Verified Buyer Reviewed by CiaoBella from NYC on Tuesday, April 8, 2014These are my first non-leather/cork Birks and they are even more comfortable than my originals! Great for drizzly summer streets in NYC! The design is so fun, and the fit is great as you would expect from Birks. Sierra Trading Post gives great service, and they sell perfect new merchandise. and ship promptly. I fell confident that if there were any problems, that it would be taken care of quickly! I recommend the shoe and the store!
Reviewed by Regular at Billy Goat Trail from Washington, DC on Saturday, November 16, 2013I purchased these sandals for my son. Sizing is same as regular Birkenstocks and quality is very nice.
Not good if the bottoms of your feet are sensitive - A bit too hard for my tastes and they don't seem to break-in.Reviewed by My Two Cents from Southern Utah on Monday, September 23, 2013I'm still hoping these will break in and become more comfortable but I have my doubts. In my opinion, Birkis just can't seem to get these sandals right. I also own the Birki Malibu sandals and they need work too. If they could combine the two it might just work.
I have a problem with the insoles of this Haiti model: The little grooves that I suppose are to channel water away from your feet are very uncomfortable and I think it is because the material of the footbed is too hard - besides, I don't think the grooves are deep enough to channel out water anyway. Maybe wearing a sock would be more comfortable but then you'd loose the waterproof feature which is what I need.
The arch is a bit too much - for the same reason as the insoles, just too hard, and it doesn't seem to be breaking in at all. I have worn Birkenstocks since the 60's so I am use to and like the nice arches in them so I was bummed when this model didn't live up to the comfort I am use to. The Malibu model has the opposite problem - it's too soft - a pair didn't even last me through half the summer and I am not hard on shoes. Birkis just doesn't seem to be able to find the right material to make their waterproof soles and insoles out of.
