Perfect for the slopes or mountain hikes. So far I can fit everything in and around with comfort. The bladder is sweet, but i keep it half filled. just that added protection to hydrate on the trails during the summer.

Reviewed by Bark Boy from Appalachia on Monday, March 3, 2014The one item that this pack does not have is a hydration bladder and feed hose, so you have to scarf one from another system and put it in. Why they omitted this is a puzzle. Once it's in, this is a hard pack to beat for day trips. The outer compartment holds the avi gear with 3 slender sleeves for shovel handle, probe and a thin cord of rope -- my 100' of 550# paracord just fit. The inner compartment holds the hydration reservoir and has room for hat, mittens, an extra light layer, energy bars, etc. there are two small zippered compartments, one inside this compartment and the other on the outside of the pack for quick grab items. A nice feature is a helmet pouch on the top third of the pack so your helmet doesn't flop around when climbing. The diagonal ski tote system works well enough on short hikes. For longer ones I would suggest the tepee setup with ski tails tucked inot thte side straps and the tips lashed above your head.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Scott 2929 from Salt Lake City, UT on Tuesday, January 22, 2013Bought this pack for short back country ski tours. The pack is great. All avalanche tools fit in a separate, easily accessible compartment, there is also room for a jacket, gloves, and other smaller items needed for a shorter tour. I would not reccomend this pack if you are looking for something to hold alot of food and water.
Question & Answer
Questions about this product? Get answers from community and staff experts.
“Is this pack ready out of the box (less hydration bladder)? Or, does it need to be filled with air for the AvaLung function to operate?
Also, I will be heading to Canada in 18 days - assuming it is in stock, how quickly can I receive it (i.e., pay extra for rush delivery)?
Thanks in advance!”
