I have strong knees and ankles and used to view trekking poles as 12 ounce hand weights, but when these came out at just a smidge over 7 ounces each I revisited the idea of trekking poles.
These are great poles because the only weigh 1 ounce more than very high end carbon fiber sets an fold up into ... Read More

Would've been helpful if this was listed here on STP. It was included in the package that:

    Height Metric--Height SAE------Suggested Z-Pole Length
    <154 cm-------- (<5' 1")------------100 cm
    154-171 cm-----(5' 1" - 5' 7")-----110 cm
    172-182 cm-----(5' 8" - 5' 11")---120 cm
183+ cm---------(6' +)---------------130 cm (THIS IS THE SIZE OF THIS POLE)

They are the wrong size for me, but seem very well designed and that they wouldn't break easily. Comes with a strap that connects them together during storage which is nice. Would've kept them if I had bought the right size/understood the sizing.

I used these in my 100 miler. They are very light weight and that is in important in an ultra of that distance. I also used these when backpacking the Grand Canyon this year! Very durable.

I've used these for hiking up steep peaks in the fall. They are great. I've had other brands' poles, and BD's are by far the most sturdy and built the best. Highly recommended. The low profile baskets don't snag on the scrub oak too much, so that is good too.

These poles are excellent if you can get just the right length for you. Since they come in preset lengths only the fit may not be spot on. But, the upside is the incredibly light weight. A little more flexible than some other poles but again the tradeoff is the lightness. Good choice if looking for a basic, very light hiking pole.
