Reviewed by mike, the really old guy from Central Nevada on Friday, December 20, 2013Diamir bindings made by Fritschi of Switzerland have always been durable and have done a great job!
Reviewed by poppinstuff from Bozeman, MT on Tuesday, November 19, 2013This is my third pair. Very strong and reliable without the weight of side country bindings.
Reviewed by Northern Colorado Climber from Northern Colorado on Friday, November 15, 2013I have previously used Fritschi bindings and they are durable and functional. I have no problems with the bindings or the price. Unfortunately the box did not come with mounting instructions (and more importantly the paper template). So it got an extra hour or so to mount them.
The adjustable toe height is nice, I use two different boots in these bindings and that space needs to be adjusted for each pair. Time will tell how well they hold up, but if previous experience holds they will be good backcountry AT rig.
Reviewed by powder pete from Montana on Thursday, November 14, 2013Love this product, my second set. Not as vigorous as I used to be and only take the occasional trip into the back country, but rarely stay on the runs and enjoy the ability to hike out of a spot I've skied into in search of a stash of cold smoke with ease. These bindings do everything I need them to do with simplicity of design. And the price was great!

Yes, the "size" is boot sole. From the Fritschi instructions in my box: Sole Length in mm:
260-315 = SM (small/med)
285-340 = ML (med/long)
330-=365 = XL (extra long)
I'm not sure what the "S" size means in the STP product description, but I'd assume it means "really small boots" (say under size 7 mens.
Width refers to the width of your ski at the foot, so the ski brake (aka "ski stoppers" on the Fritschi box) fits. The instructions say you should "choose the smallest binding that will fit your boot".
Also, double size your binding sizing as soon as the box arrives from STP, there are some incidences of the wrong size being in the box.
Finally great info available at Lou Dawson's site: http://www.wildsnow.com/bindings/fritschi-backcountry-skiing/
It does. SM = 260-315mm; ML = 285-340mm; XL = 330-365mm.
They are from the 2011/2012 ski season.
