5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Daypack
Verified Buyer Reviewed by CC Bethlehem from Bethlehem, PA on Monday, April 24, 2017
I was looking for a smaller daypack for short hikes my wife and I take. This pack fits the bill. Very smart and comfortable ergonomic design contours well with my back and shoulders and leaves more of my back exposed for breathability than my other back pack. Able to carry all the essentials plus room for removal of layers later on in the day.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great pack for day hikes

As mentioned in one of the other reviews, the pictures of the front are incorrect. There is an additional expansion pocket that is really handy for rain gear and windbreakers.
I have about 25 days of trail hiking use on mine and love it so far.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. incorrect photo, over-engineered and heavy

Firstly, the photo is not the correct pack. I have a number of Black Diamond packs, and thought this might be something similar to the Hollowpoint. Instead it has a rigid (but removable) plastic panel, plus a non-removable undulating closed cell foam sheet (to add ventilation). Additionally, the waist belt, which I would never use on a 20L, is thick foam. Together this turns a 20L daypack into heavy, over-engineered deadweight.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Product image doesn't match product.

The image of the front of the pack, for the red, black, and grey options is of the Magnum 16; not the Magnum 20. The image of the backpanel on the mustard colored pack is the Magnum 20. I received the Magnum 20, which is larger, has side compression straps, and a front stash pocket. As noted by others, the side pockets are a weird design, which has not been retained on BD's more recent iterations of this pack.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Not for me, not as pictured
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Dave from Colorado on Monday, February 19, 2018
The pictured pack is actually the Magnum 16. The Magnum 20 I received didn’t have the loops of webbing used to hold ice tools. Bother the 16 an 20 liter versions have these poorly designed side pockets that expand with the use of bungee and some plastic toggle locks. This design is flawed in that heavy items like a full water bottle loosen the bungee during motion. At 20L the pack can be filled beyond what I would consider appropriate weight for the materials and build of the pack. The materials and construction are better suited for the Bbee 11 pack, which I own and very much enjoy.
