TrailTime Tip: How to Pack for Getting Back

Packing for a backpacking trip, skiing trip or any type of adventure that involves playing and exploring outside can be stressful; you want to make sure you don't miss anything crucial for your outdoor vacation. With all of the details that go into planning a trip, there's one key item on your packing list that may be missing. This extra packing piece is something that can make the end of your trip more comfortable: clean, dry clothes.

Backpacking packing tip

Of course you're going to pack clothes for whatever excursion lies ahead, but we recommend that you stash a clean change of clothes in your car so you can change immediately when you get back to civilization. Trust us, not having to sit in stinky, dirty and potentially wet clothing will make your drive home much more enjoyable. Having a change of clothes available will also prevent you from dirtying your car with whatever remnants of mother nature are on your clothes.

Instead of thinking about how badly you need to change on your way back home, you can reminisce about how much fun you had on your outdoor adventure. (Note: Clean clothes do not take the place of a shower. We still highly encourage this upon arriving home for the sake of everyone involved.)

Listen to why our videographer, Chris, recommends storing clean, dry clothes in your car for the end of an outdoor trip . Take a look at the video below.

Do you ever leave clean clothes in your car to change into? Will you try this tip in the future? Let us know in the comments!
