LEKI Brand Spotlight and Giveaway

Over the past 50+ years, LEKI has maintained a reputation for smart, well-designed outdoor products -- specifically trekking and ski poles. In fact, founder Karl Lenhart launched LEKI in the early 1960s in response to his dissatisfaction with the quality of ski poles in use at the time. His first products were grips and baskets, with the company eventually expanding to branded alpine and cross-country ski poles in the 1970s. Trekking poles soon followed, and in 1974 LEKI introduced the Makalu, the first mass-marketed adjustable trekking pole. The revolution had begun.

LEKI has continued to innovate in recent decades, developing pole technologies that have become industry standards. These include trekking pole improvements like the carbide flex tip and internal anti-shock cushioning. In 2008 LEKI introduced the Trigger S, an integrated glove/ski pole system, and in 2010 began producing the Speed Lock external pole adjustment system for even easier, more reliable on-the-fly adjustment.

Sierra Trading Post carries multiple models of LEKI trekking poles and ski poles for a range of intended uses, including day hiking, multi-day backpacking and backcountry skiing -- all at our everyday value pricing.

LEKI giveaway

1. LEKI Aergon 3 Backcountry Ski Poles: The Aergon 3 is a sturdy backcountry ski pole that packs down small and adjusts easily. It has a three-section design made of 7075 aluminum and has Speed Lock external adjustment. The grip zone extends down the shaft for steep skin tracks and the powder baskets are removable.

2. LEKI Carbon TI trekking Poles: These are a top-of-the-line pole for backpackers, through-hikers or anyone wanting to shave weight without sacrificing strength. The middle and lower sections of the Carbon TI are built of high-modulus carbon fiber that's incredibly strong and super light. In fact, both poles together weigh barely over a pound. The Carbon TI utilizes the external Speed Lock adjustment system, so length adjustment is a snap. They also feature a grip zone that extends down the upper shaft -- perfect for steep sections of trail where you need to adjust your grip for just a few steps.

3. LEKI Trail anti-shock trekking poles: A great choice for casual and serious hikers that eases stress on joints. The Trail has a three-section aircraft-grade aluminum shaft with a built-in anti-shock mechanism that absorbs impact. It uses the twisting Super Lock internal locking system and has an ergonomically shaped comfort grip.

4. LEKI Summit anti-shock trekking poles: The Summit is similar to the Trail, but features an upgraded Aergon Cor-Tec cork and rubber grip. This grip is designed to absorb sweat and gradually mold to the shape of the hand. Like the Trail, the Summit features a three-section aluminum shaft, anti-shock technology and the Super Lock internal locking system.
