Great STP service. Boots are subpar.

These are my fourth pair of 500s. My first two pair were made in Australia. They lasted for years, had almost no break-in time, felt comfortable from the moment I put them on and throughout the four and five years I used them. (And I was very hard on them -- urban walking and motorcycle riding.) My third pair were not made in Australia, and didn't last six months -- they suffered from the sole disintegration problem. This pair that I bought from STP are factory seconds, so I didn't expect much. Which is good, because I didn't get much.

They were cheap, so I can always use them when I: a.). feel like digging a sewer ditch or b.). want to practice self-flaggleation by making my feet hurt terribly.

I usually wear a USA 8.5, depending on the shoe.

These just don't "feel" like Blundstones. The leather is stiffer than any Blundstone I've had. The toebox is a much slimmer profile and is compressed so much that my toes hurt even after walking around for an hour. The sizing is WAY off. My first three pairs were marked 7 1/2 on the bottom and they were just a tiny bit long and a tiny bit wide -- this is what I wanted, as I tend to wear heavy socks and don't mind the volume. (I sometimes wore them barefoot when going to the beach and they were big without socks.) This pair that I bought from STP is also marked 7 1/2 on the bottom, but are so narrow that I keep Band-Aids on me when I have to wear them. They are also just a bit too short so that the tip of my big toe is rubbed raw. Yes, they might stretch, but my point is that the sizing is WAY off from what I've experienced with three previous pairs of 500s.

After my third pair fell apart, I looked around for other boots of this style and found Rossi boots. I bought a pair of their Booma boots and they are far superior to the non-Aus Blundstones. The craftsmanship and quality is easily distinguishable, and make these Blundstones feel cheap.

I wil probably keep these, unless STP allows me to return them. I am only giving stars because there was an issue with shipping and STP, as always, worked with me to solve the problem in a way that was more than fair to me. They treat customers fairly and with respect.

These boots, however, are awful.
