I fill them with oats, beans, lentils etc. I like the lids being metal but one piece. Food seems to keep better in these than in plastic bags.

"Bormioli Rocco Made in Italy Gelo Glass Storage Bowls - A much safer alternative to plastic for STORING FOOD" not cooking - baking. They are storage containers not like pyrex which is a heat proof type of glass.
