Pretty close to exactly what I wanted.

The biggest drawback to these is no reinforced inner cuff guards, so I wonder how long they will last in that area. I specifically bought these for backcountry skiing, and I wanted them roomy for crawling over logs and bending down to work on bindings and such. They are roomy. Long enough for me at 5'10", but I'd have liked an extra inch there. One nice feature is the lining is a brushed, light fleece, rather than slick nylon. That allows me to wear them without a base layer on warm days, which is a nice option for skinning, and so is the zipper on inner thighs to release heat. The gaiters are too wide though. I haven't had any good pow yet this year, but it looks like they will not be tight enough around my boot to keep out blower well. Might need to duct tape them down on certain days (I should be so lucky). I like that the pockets are large and deep and zippered. Ski pass clip on a leash in one of the pockets is nice. They need a belt on me (I'm hippy with a relatively smaller waist), but belt loops are right size for a nylon belt.

I'd recommend them, but they're not stylish. I wear other (cuter) ski pants when skiing the lifts back home. These are good working pants.
