Verified Buyer Reviewed by Charles from Northern NY (North Country) on Thursday, January 12, 2017Both of my younger boys like this jacket. Although just a touch big for our 6 year old, the jacket is very warm and dry. They were out sledding for about two hours when it was 14 degrees with a 15 MPH wind and did not complain one time about being cold. Their old jackets would start to get a bit wet from the body heat melting the snow, but this jacket has not done that yet. It may change in a year, but that is why I went with the better quality jacket with the right waterproof/ water-resistant and breathability rating. I like the fact it has the added base layer sleeve cuffs at the end that help stop snow from getting up their sleeves and it is doubled when they have their base layer on. That is how they wear this jacket, base layer, snow pants and jacket. Never got cold snowboarding or sledding for hours. The waist gaiter is also great because it has two adjustment snaps for thinker or thinner waists.
The zippers are very functional for them, and they don' need help like other jackets that have a sealant on them. The only issue they have, which I think they need to just get used to it is when the jacket is zipped all the way up, it seams to rub or push their helmet strap into their neck/ soft pallet.
