I wasn't really expecting much for the price, but we have really enjoyed this. We have it in our travel trailer, and the kids can roll it around to make ice cream while we're traveling. It's not a true ball, don't plan on kicking or throwing, but kids are pretty patient when they get the reward at the end!

A couple things to know: this thing is heavy when it's full, and pretty hard. It can be passed back and forth, a lot like a medicine ball, and not much else.
That being said it made some tasty icecream and I was able to make it lighter by using whole milk instead of cream. Just remember to spoon down the sides half way through so it doesn't freeze solid!

I purchased this for a cooking teacher who teaches 8 & 9 year olds who sometimes need to be active and expend some energy before they can concentrate. I understand that this activity was fun and delicious, two things the kids loved.

Lots of fun - makes great ice cream! We can't wait to use it again. Wish it came with a good, plastic spoon to scoop it out because metal spoons work better, but scrape the inside of the chamber, but that's minor compared to the quality of ice cream you get and can make yourself! was grateful that Walmart sells the rock salt needed to use it - so if you give it as a gift, give the salt too for instant gratification!
