According the the Brooks size chart you would wear a 8.5 in a men's.
“are these shoes ok for paved trails? - mostly run on pavement- but do xc sometimes. thanks jeff bowers”
These shoes should work on paved trails - as good as any trail shoe, but they are made primarily for nature trails.
