My go-to shoe

I am now on my 5th pair of Glycerin 13s. Eventually I will probably have to go to the 14s or whatever model Brooks is hawking now. I am a neutral gait runner with medium arches, neuromas on both feet, a bunion on one foot, and a slightly cranky knee. I have barely had to break them in -- walk around the house in them a little and then I can go out and run 3 or 4 miles. I got my first pair last year when I was training for my first half marathon, half a size up from my street shoe size. As I started to add on more mileage (I ran 4 half marathons and one full marathon plus all the training runs and some shorter races), I realized I needed to go up a full size. I haven't had any of the trouble other people have. My only complaint is that the soles seem to wear out a little faster than I would like, but I think most shoes are like that these days. So I've run all my races and done most of my training in these shoes. I do own a couple of other Brooks models -- Pure Flow 4, Pure Grit 4 for trails, Trance 11 (discontinued a couple of years ago but I found them outside the US) and Launch 3, but I definitely favor the Glycerins.
