As a 5'11", 150 lb. runner, I usually wear a lighter neutral shoe, but was looking for more medial support in hopes of correcting a sore arch which had been hanging around for several months. In the past I have used Mizuno, Asics, Adidas, and Nike mild support shoes, but never Brooks. Reviews of the Ravenna 6 indicated it has a higher arch support than many other brands, so went with them. First out-of-the-box impressions: heavier than I am accustomed to using, well made, fit true to size, arch area very supportive (I have higher arches), toe box fit my wider foot, heel did not slip, decent flexibility which I assume will improve with use, plenty of tread which would allow use on a groomed trail. Ran 6 miles out of the box without any problems. Have since done a 14 mile run and shorter outings, again without any problems. As planned, will use these shoes for long slow distance runs as a bit heavy for tempo or speed outings. Four stars because of the weight, but otherwise exactly what I was looking for.
