5.0 out of 5 stars. Great STP value - Beautiful - VerstileReviewed by D. from Southeast USA on Friday, October 7, 2016Received two of these yesterday. I was expecting much in quality of fit, finish, and blade steel and both examples surpassed my expectations. These knives are from Taiwan and are as nice or nicer than, e.g., Spyderco's superb quality from the island. I simply have NO NEGATIVE comments about any/all the details of these beauties. In this size, type, and class these are second to none at this price point. Add this build quality to STP's discount coupon pricing / legendary customer service = HOME RUN.
Specifically: (I) The jigged bone handles are drop dead gorgeous and well mated to the full tang handle steel and bolsters II) The polished finish on the blade steel is first rate III) The SS bolsters mate perfectly to handle face and handle scales IV) The sheath is far more than most buyers might expect featuring stout construction/stitching and semi detailed hand tooling along with the embossed Browning logo. Very nice sheath overall.
NOTE:although the steel is not the "best steel" available, it is better than middle of the road steel quality. When using on birds and trout it is more than adequate. For other more demanding uses (not as a tool but as a knife) it will perform nicely. A quick hone will be just that (i.e., QUICK). This is not "hardest" or "strongest" stainless but rather a nice compromise between the two overall.
These will make a great gift for those who are fishers and hunters, steak house eaters wishing to use their own steak knife, picnic / tailgate folks both cooking and eating, and more.
