I'm really happy with this bag. I bought it for a recent trip I took to Alaska. We traveled with all of our backpacking gear, and this bag totally rose to the occasion.
I packed it FULL. I managed to fit a 35L backpack, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, boots, sandals, clothes, dehydrated food, wool poncho, and some Ziploc's with toiletries. It was tight, but the zippers, handles, and material held up even after being tossed around the airport.
The backpack straps are as simple as they come. No padding. But they make a big difference when you have to walk a longer distance or need your hands free.
The bag is not waterproof. There is a seemingly waterproof material lining the inside of the top, walls, and bottom of the bag, but none on the ends. It could probably handle a light rain, but that's about it.

About Burton

One name will always remain synonymous with the snowboarding movement, and that name is Burton. Back in 1978, the sport of snowboarding was virtually unknown and completely on the fringe, but Jake Burton quit his day job to make snowboards in his living room anyway. By the 1980s, Burton snowboards were helping people discover a totally new and exhilarating way to carve the snow. More than thirty years later, Burton snowboards and bindings are still leading the industry with cutting-edge technologies and killer-looking designs, as are Burton boots. On the slopes, Burton jackets and pants are made to help you beat the elements and look great doing it. Long live winter.
