So warmVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ludy from Miami on Friday, April 20, 2018I am always cold. When I use the smart wool cable tights...i get warm and they are so cozy. In adition, they are well made and sexy!
Perfect tightsReviewed by Sarafina from Austin, TX on Saturday, December 23, 2017These are soft, warm, comfortable, and good-looking. I've been looking for great tights for a couple years, and never could find what I was looking for. It's obvious that they are well made and excellent quality and will last for a good long time.
love these tightsVerified Buyer Reviewed by bgh1153 from Iowa on Tuesday, December 19, 2017These are great! I wear them under pants in the winter, less bulky than long underwear but just as warm. I usually wear a size small but find the medium more comfortable.
Warm and rocking.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Nick from Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 24, 2017I'm not a huge fan of tights, but I love the pattern of these so much that I took a gamble here. The fabric feels soft and substantial, but thin, and they've so far washed well (hand wash, air dry). I bought this in both S and M, because I heard they run short, but the S fit me so well that I returned the M without bothering to try them on. (I'm 5'4'', 115 lbs).
Fit me perfectly.Reviewed by Nick from Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 24, 2017Gosh, I love Smartwool's Aubergine Heather color. I was so pleased to pick these up in the tights style, and the cable-knit pattern is lovely and subtle. While I bought these in both S and M, because I heard they can run short, but the S fit me perfectly and I returned the M without bothering to try them on. (I'm 5'4'', 115 lbs).
On the small sideVerified Buyer Reviewed by H from Cortland,NY on Friday, October 20, 2017I really wanted to like these, and they are a great quality, but I was very disappointed that they run so small. I definitely will need to return and go up a size. For reference, I usually get L's but the tights don't stretch very high (probably because of my thighs). The crotch part comes within 4-5 inches of where it's supposed to be, but won't go much higher.
Bottom line, size up if you don't have skinny thighs, or if you have long legs. These will stretch, but only so far. Otherwise, great quality and thick enough to be worn in colder weather.
too shortVerified Buyer Reviewed by AWS from new york on Tuesday, September 12, 2017I fall right in the middle of the size chart for size M - 5"6 and 140lbs. The medium fit short, unlike all of my plain smart wool tights. Order up!
Good product, attention to sizingReviewed by Chic College Professor from California on Friday, June 2, 2017The product is beautiful in a discreet color (not a vibrant red wine) and the design makes my legs look longer. It is warm and not itchy, also, the cable knits are not bulky. The 4-star is for the fact that the sizing chart doesn't provide enough details. I ordered size S/P because I usually wear size 4. The original package shows that M/M is for 5'4''-5'8'' (height) and 120-150 (weight). I suggest to call Sierra Trading if you are not sure about the right size.

“My daughter is 5’ 10 1/2” and weighs 122 lbs. She has 36” legs. She’s tall and slender. Should I buy her size M or L?”
I am 5’6”, 140 lbs and I thought the legs were short in a M.
I'd buy her the L. I'm 5'4'' with a 29'' inseam, and the S was too small for me; M turned out to be a much better fit.
