The Cabot and Sons Hiking Socks are the most comfortable and long lasting socks I have ever owned. I purchased three pairs of socks at the sale price of 9.99 a pair over the Christmas season. I knew that I had to pay the American exchange as well as predetermined shipping charges. Although I felt the charges were high - I ordered the socks anyway. The shipping charges were around fifty dollars. When the socks arrived in Canada, I was surprised that UPS charged me an additional 13 dollars for shipping the socks. Why are shipping charges so excessive for such light weight material ?

What began as a 30 dollar purchase - ended up as 30 dollars per pair of socks - hardly a thrifty bargain.

I love the product but would appreciate more reasonable shipping costs in the future. Why the huge charges for merino wool socks ?

These are some of the best socks I've ever owned. I have three pair that are over four years old and they have no pilling, do not stretch and wrinkle in my shoe. They are virtually like brand new still. They are a family owned business and made in USA also. I have some "darn tough" merino wool socks also, that i understand are manufactured by the same company Cabot and Sons. I used to buy regular cotton socks for years to work in construction trades or walking, but they wore out fast and always left my feet wet by the end of the day. I am by nature sensitive to wool and don't like scratchy wool clothes. But these socks don't bother me or itch and leave my feet dry all day. Virtually all foot fungus problems have disappeared for me. These socks are good to wear when its hot, provide a better cushion and definitely are superior when it is cold to keep my feet warm and dry. i even wear them with my tennis shoes while walking the beach or trails. The crew length is good while wearing shorts. I've bought at least six or seven other brands or wool type socks, some stretch and pill to the point they are just sitting in the drawer as a last resort. I always reach for the Cabot and Sons first. I just purchased four more pair at a reasonable price.

These were quite cheaper than most brands, but they are quite comfortable. Didn't feel any irritation on my feet. Looking forward to trying them out on my backpacking trip.
