We also don't do meat but did a fantastic fake chicken breast yesterday using the pan and it was perfect. I have weak wrists and can't handle a cast iron grill. This one is a weight I can handle and the cast iron press is heavy but not too heavy. Have done grilled sandwiches and vegetables - all work great.

decent sized cast iron grill. They are not given
the smooth finish to the casting, especially those
shipped here by the boatload! I purchased this for

Take it out of the oven, put it on the burner and add your meat and the press/lid. Turn the meat when its brown, and finish cooking it thru in the oven. This is a great pan for meat and grilled vegetables, carmelizes onions perfectly.
