Born and raised in The Bronx, Calvin Klein started his fashion career as a young man by apprenticing at several New York design shops, eventually launching his own company in 1967. In the mid-70s, the brand introduced a line of trim-fitting jeans to nearly overnight success. Within five years, CK jeans commanded a fifth of the entire designer denim market. In the 80s, Calvin Klein underwear became the most iconic name in men’s briefs, and Calvin Klein dresses have been a regular fixture on Hollywood red carpets for more than two decades.
