Acceptable, runs large

I've used these for several stints on the trainer so far, but no long rides. I'm normally a solid medium, and occasionally consider being a large with cycling clothes. This being February, I have picked up a layer of winter blubber. Even with this, these shorts are large on me. They bunch, in the rear when I'm standing and in the front and crotch when on a saddle. The chamois does not feel like it folds or crunchs, it feels smooth, but the fabric definitely bunches. I haven't noticed discomfort from this yet, at multiple 1.5 hour stints, but it makes me worry a bit.

The chamois padding with gel is quite substantial, it feels fairly awkward when not on the bike. On the bike it is mostly unnoticeable. It does feel like the seat is a bit loose (I checked, it's not), this is probably good for my skin/pressure points, but it was a bit odd at first.

The fabric is thinner than I prefer, but doesn't seem see-through or fragile. I just prefer a heavy-weight material.

I also purchased a pair of Canari Elite shorts, the G2s seem slightly less loose/large, and the padding is firmer than on the Elites, probably because of the gel.
