Loose but comfortable

I've owned a lower-end Canari short previously and though it stretched more than expected, I liked the comfort. The Vortex is no different. It's like having a 2nd, but looser skin. It wrinkles a bit, the legs ride up a shade, and the padding isn't as good as the Peloton G2, but it's also cheaper than the admittedly higher-end Peloton. On a recent 40 miler, I noticed a bit of movement and the padding is a bit less firm, being a bit more stretchy than I normally like. Still, for shorter, and less demanding rides, these shorts did a fine job.

I wouldn't recommend mountain biking due to the shorts being more "active." I've gotten my other pair of Canari's caught under the seat (making them snap) when climbing on and off the bike. It's not dangerous, but noticeable and I wonder if a small would have fit me better in this model. They just seem to give more than some others I've worn. This also makes them comfortable, but again, if your rides are aggressive, these will move on you more.

Very good for the price, and an excellent casual 2nd pair for shorter rides. I'm not returning them.
