  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great modern style boot for tradesmen

After switching from laced boots to pull-on, I have always used "western-style" or re-soleable boots. This is my first experience with bonded soles. I've had these for a couple weeks and overall I feel these are a solid choice for a safety toe work boot. I personally don't know that they'll last as long as a full leather boot like a "Wellington" style classic boot. But these are lined inside and the shaft feels relatively soft and flexible. After the first day I can feel that they loosened up. I also own Ariat Rigteks and a set of Thorogood comp-toe original workboots. These Carhartt's were the most comfortable to wear straight out of the box. The Thorogoods I had to use a boot stretcher to work the instep. The size 12D fit as expected and were comfortably snug. If you like a tight fitting boot then these are probably not right for you; they don't feel like they're pinching or squeezing on the sides of my feet.

The attached image shows (from left to right) these Carhartts, Ariat Rigteks, Thorogood Oil-Rig Wellington workboots, and Justin Wellington Original workboots

Great boot no break in. I would have gave them 5 star's but the top of the boots rubs my leg.

these boots are true to size. nothing special about this boot. it does its job.Not comfortable but not uncomfortable. There is absolutely no (NO) arch support t all. Do not know if STP left out the insoles or if the Ortholte is [...]. my feet started hurting after a week of working. Went and bought.a pair of DR. SCHOLLS heavy duty in soles with arch support. These made the boot feel like it was brand new. was not impressed with the boot until after i bought the insoles. i would rank it a five if the insoles were like the ones o bought.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
