This is a second, I guess lesser in quality than Carhartt's premium coats which cost up to 50 pecent more. The coat is fine, fits me as described and has room enough to fit a few more layers underneath for those colder requirements. I have washed the coat three time an noticed that the fabric tightens up and seems more dense with each washing. I've owned Carhartt coats in the past and if you want a no nonsense basic, durable coat that will stand up to the elements,m choose a carhartt. And one more thing, it won't melt if you're camping if an ember from the campfire suddenly pops on to you. Synthetics will melt most readily.
