  • “Is this used or what? Why does the details say 2nds??”
Asked by Cindy from Pennsylvania on 11/13/2016 4:39:16 PM
    • Not used. 2nds is a standard discount term meaning usually the final inspection found a cosmetic blemish that doesn't the intended use. I'm my jacket there's a small "nick" in the fabric on the upper back. It's nothing much, barely noticeable and this is a work jacket anyway.

    • These are new items. 2nds: Minor cosmetic blemishes or irregularities which do not affect the fit, performance, or longevity of the item. Label is usually clipped by the manufacturer. A small flaw means big savings.

    • You can buy the hood separately from an alternate supplier. Put this phrase, "quilt lined carhartt brown sandstone hood", in your search engine to find retailers for the hood. The retail price is about $20 for this hood.

    • Thank you all very much, for your helpful answers. This one from "Birmingham" is precise: "Put this phrase, "quilt lined Carhartt brown sandstone hood", in your search engine" - Now, wouldn't it be great if they made detachable, extra thick collars with "snap chin strap closures?!" :-)

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
