This is the first Carhartt item I have purchased as seconds that I have actually been able to find a flaw in. One of the inner seams was not finished properly and had been repaired with coarse black stitching; this does not show at all on the outide of the garment, and the wear and durability of the garment is not affected because the outer seam is perfectly stitched and strong. I have the heavier dark blue overalls (which I love, but paid a lot more for!!!) that I had ordered in my normal size and they were a bit too tight, so I ordered these one size up. Perfect! They fit exactly as pictured, loose and comfy. As described, these are fairly light weight (at least compared to other Carhartt work clothing) so they won't be too hot for summer/early fall and they will wash up nice and soft. I always order this brand of pants in a shorter length than I usually take because they run quite long and these are no exception. I'm 5'4", and usually purchase a 32" inseam, and for these overalls I got the 30" which are just right. The only con for me is the extra margin where the snaps fasten at each side of the waist is a bit skimpy so if I am wearing a shirt that isn't long enough underneath, they could gap enough to show my skivvies when I sit down! My other overalls have a wider fold of fabric so they don't have this problem, but I will just make sure to wear a longer top (or I might sew it up part-way since these are loose enough that I can get them on/off just using the top snap instead of both). Even so, I like them a lot and will get plenty of wear out of them. I am happy with my purchase and the excellent price.
  • Cons: Gaps at sides of waist
  • Pros: Long-wearing, Sturdy fabric, Well-made
