  • “I have bought Carhartt in the past. Jeans and Overalls always ran way small in my experience. Do theses run small? Im a big guy. I wear 40W34L in Wranglers. Could I order the same size in theses Carhartt and expect them to fit?”
Asked by Cajun Indian from Texas on 7/26/2018 9:48:32 AM
    • My husband wears a 40W 34L also and these fit him perfectly. He wears the same size in Wranglers and Levis. I hope this helps.

    • According to our fit team this item is running true to size.

  • “Are these jeans pre-washed? Can we expect shrinkage after washing/drying? Thanks!”
Asked by Tee from NC on 9/20/2017 10:36:12 AM
    • not sure about the pre-wash, but they did not shrink. My past experience with Carhatt's is they are true to size after washing.
Answered on 9/20/2017 10:42:44 AM by spot from Central MN
    • I can't say for certain but believe so because there was no shrinkage after they were washed.
I wore the first pair of jeans right out of the package and was fine.
I washed the second and third pair before wearing and felt no difference in size.

    • They are pre-washed. Like any jean they shrink slightly with drying and stretch as you wear. No noticeable shrinkage in waist or length. I have been purchasing these jeans at Sierra for years. Great value and jeans that I can not find the imperfections on.

  • “Do these jeans fit over pull on boots well?”
Asked by Anonymous from colorado on 5/20/2014 8:15:03 AM
    • If you are asking if your can pull the jeans on and off while wearing your boots, I would answer no. But, if you asking if the leg of the jeans will pull down over the top of the boot while wearing them, I would say that they fit over my boot tops just fine.

    • Hi Shelbie, The picture is an accurate representation of how the pant leg fits over a boot --slightly snug but room enough
Answered on 5/20/2014 8:27:27 AM by Santa Fe Retiree from Santa Fe NM
    • I don't wear boots so I really don't know.

I looked the opening on the legs of the jeans to imagine how boots would fit and I think the openings are a little tight for boots.

Of course, there is no way to know for sure unless you try wearing the jeans with boots.

I'd go to a store wearing boots and try on a pair jeans to see for yourself.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    • They will fit over boot tops, but the straight leg fits better. The tapered leg gives more of a stacked look.

    • They 'look" very streamlined when on and I think if your boots are snug around your ankle and calf these jeans will fit over them. They are great looking jeans and look good wash after wash! My suggestion? Give them a try! !

    • Yes!!! There is plenty of room from knee to ankle. I have western, roper, and tactical boots. The western boot go up my calf the highest and there is no problem with fit! Remember, theses are relaxed fit. I do not know about regular or slim fit.. These particular jeans get a 5 star from me! Take good care. Shelbie!

Asked by Donnie D from Westerville OH on 2/3/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • That is correct.

    • They sit at the right height. I found that the hips sit right, but the waist feels too big for me. They aren't the same fit as years past. I'm slender, and haven't joined in the "enlargement" of America, so maybe Carhartt is making them bigger in the waist for softer bellies.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
