Carhartt quality has declined

It would appear, contingent with a hyped-up marketing campaign, that Carhartt has decreased its quality. I've bought several Carhartt coats from Sierra over the last 10 or so years (including the exact same model about 6 years ago), and this one is notably cheaper made than in previous years. The zipper is less finished and appears to be plated steel rather than all brass. The canvas is thinner and lower-quality and the lining is thinner, feels more like cheap felt than wool blend 'blanket' like my old jackets.

This will probably be the last Carhartt I buy, there is no point in paying more for what used to be a quality brand, to get the same Mexican-made junk everybody else is selling.

Still a good product overall, but no longer the premier rugged work wear brand they used to be.
