About Carhartt J97 Detroit Sandstone Jacket - Blanket Lined, Factory Seconds (For Men)

2nds. Carhartt's J97 Detroit duck jacket is micro-sanded and garment-washed for a softer feel. Add in a warm blanket lining, and you've got a serious piece of outerwear that is tough enough to stand up to the worst you can dish out (and look great doing it).

Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket

This is a great jacket, especially for construction work. I think the reason it is so popular is because most construction guys have at least one of these and they keep buying them. Some of the features that folks don't like are perfect for working.

Not all that warm if you are standing around but just right as a top layer when working up a sweat in the cold.

Long arms don't ride up and collect rain when doing overhead work.

Short torso length rides above the tool belt. This is CRUCIAL for a carpenter's jacket!

This short length can be a problem for the casual wearer as it rides up when sitting in a car seat and might let a draft down your backside.

One problem for work is the nylon lined sleeves. If you work with fiberglass at all you know what I'm talking about.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
