Verified Buyer Reviewed by MamaEwalt from Fargo, ND on Thursday, December 31, 2015Great product as expected from Carhartt. Nice material, however the fit seemed as though it was one size too small.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mike from New York on Saturday, December 12, 2015I knew at the time I was buying a 2nd or irregular and couldn't find any defects which led me to the conclusion that the sizing is the defect.Apart from that this and one other jacket are very nice especially for 1/2 price.
I have a 39" chest and long arms for someone my height so according to the chart my size should be a medium however when I tried it on,it could fit a man with a 46" chest.I sent it back and swapped it for a small.
The small fits great but the arms are still a bit long.
Along with this one I also purchased a "Bankston " duck jacket which had the same problem. That one also has shoulders that would fit a "large".
Looks like someone at Carhartt mixed up templates for different sizes!
Verified Buyer Reviewed by silver2row from Louisiana on Tuesday, September 22, 2015Hello,
My name is Seth. I purchased this jacket. It is very roomy and has lengthy sleeves for a 5' 5" individual. I had to put new hardware on the cuffs so that the jacket's sleeves did not overhang off my hands. All in all, this is a good jacket. I cannot wait to see how it holds up in the harsh Winter climate.

This jacket needs extra support for 35 degree nights with wind if you are standing still. Extra support would be an extra fleece and/or liner (pile or Sherpa). Um...I wore this jacket on a night that had heavy winds but was only around 35 degrees. I had a difficult time standing the wind plus the temperature.
P.S. If you are not tall or your gift receiver is not tall, you will probably have to change out the cuff buttons. The snaps make a wide cuff. I had to add extra snaps to cinch around my wrists.
The hood is detachable.
This does come with a detachable hood.
