  • “is this jacket longer since it says for tall men”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 12/1/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • The length of the Carhartt Sandstone Detroit Jacket is 27", so it will be longer then standard sizing.
Answered on 12/2/2011 12:00:00 AM by Prod. Spec. Ryan from Sierra Trading Post
    • Yes it is longer. The standard Detroit style jacket does not cover my belt line and this one comes at least two inches below it.

  • “What is the best way to clean and care for this jacket. Is there any way to soften it up. It is so stiff when it is new.”
Asked by Jerry Davidson Sr from La Junta, Co. on 10/15/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • The care instructions tag states machine wash warm, do not bleach, tumble dry medium heat. I have had one since December of 2007, it will soften up after a few washes.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
