Excellent Coat. just what I wanted

I ordered size XL and the fit is perfect. not too big. the design with the gusseted arms allows great freedom of movement. The coat is prewashed and is 'soft' for a Carhartt which supprized me in a good way. The coat is also surpizingly warm. the Sherpa lining is very soft and comfortable but not so thick that it inhibits movement.

Sierra advertises this jacket as 'seconds'. What that is, I don't know. I don't see any flaw in it anywhere. Sierra has a great price, and, if you look on line you can probably find a coupon. I found one for an additional 30% off. All in all I paid about 1/2 price as advertised on Carhartt's website.

I just had the chance to test it out a few days ago blowing and shoveling heavy snow. The coat was great. no restriction in movement, shed the wind and kept me comfortable.

I have purchased a product called Nikwax Cotton which is a durable water repellent finish made especially for cotton as the only downside to Carhartt is that they are not water proof or repellent. But they are not advertised to be either so there is nothing taken off the rating for that.

Perhaps the ONLY negative I can say is that it is not made in America. You would think that a brand like Carhartt, worn by probably every contractor and backyard guy in the US would be made here. What a shame.
