great jacket for a "seconds"
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Farm Construction worker from Northeast Wisconsin on Monday, October 22, 2012
Very warm jacket. Because of the rain we treated with a water repelant spray. Could not find any areas of the jacket which made it a "seconds". Tall size is great for the average 6' tall man, keeps your lower back covered and warm even if you need to lift your arms.

  • Great jacket. Just really heavy!

Bought this jacket for my son who is 6'5" and 280lbs. It looked and fit great but was just to heavy!
  • Irregular?
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Tex from PA on Thursday, November 27, 2014
The jacket was marked irregular. This was not clear when I ordered it. Otherwise, I like the jacket. It was a replacement for the same thing that was damaged by battery acid. Great jacket.
  • Great for the Money

Not sure why this jacket is a "Factory 2nd", could not find any blemishes on it. Shipping was quick and Sierra's price was unbeatable. As far as the jacket goes, I am 6'3" 240# with wide shoulders and couldn't ask for a better fitting jacket with the style, size, and fit being spot on for an XL Tall. The jacket is heavy duty, thick, and perfect for cold weather. I think the Sherpa lining inside is the best Carhartt offers. Carhartt is one of my favorite's and always will be. I would highly recommend Carhartt Sandstone Jackson Jacket and Sierra Trading Post to anyone.
  • Just right

Fit was great and is a very warm jacket. Fit over coveralls just right.

  • “Is the sandstone C95 in the 2XL *TALL* size, black available?”
Asked by triciau from NC on 12/20/2014 5:29:00 AM
    • Yes. I purchased it for my son who is 6'5" and it fit him well. However, he did not care for the weight of the jacket although it was very warm.

  • “One of the reviews said that the sleeves have elastic at the wrist. Could you describe how the sleeves are made at the wrist?”
Asked by Pat from Elizabethtown, KY on 12/16/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • The jacket has a elastic ribbed cuff inside the sleeve.

  • “What is the temperature rating for this jacket?”
Asked by Pam from Los Angeles, ca on 11/26/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • Most manufacturers do not have temperature ratings for their garments due to the number of factors that affect how warm a garment may keep you. • I find it comfortable from about 25 degrees to 50. Under 25 I like to add a layer, usually a Carhartt sweatshirt, and then it is toasty clear down in the teens. Over 50-55 degrees I am looking for something a little lighter. Just my experience with it here on our farm in WV. Love the coat.

  • “Hi , is this jacket mid weight or heavy weight. Thanks”
Asked by Anonymous from Niagara Falls, NY on 9/3/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • This jacket is made with a sandstone "duck" construction which is a heavy weight, tightly woven fabric. This should really keep you nice and warm in the nasty weather.
Answered on 9/8/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from None
    • This would be considered a heavy weight coat.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
