I am very happy with this jacket, so happy this is my second one. Very well made, like the Sherpa Linning keeps you warm on those cool days. Great jacket at a great price!. I originally ordered a large, but these seem to run on the smaller side, so I returned it for an XL. The Sierra Trading post rep. was very nice and helpful. The only negative was having to pay for the shipping to return a product.

I bought these for my sons but was a bit apprehensive about buying seconds. The coats are in great shape and we can't even find a reason why they are sold as seconds. Can't beat the price.

I bought this jacket for my son who is incredibly picky...He wanted something to replace a coat ( hand me down) with Sherpa lining and wool exterior from 1988. This jacket is well made and keeps him warm plus it passed his pickiness test! For the price, so far it has met my expectations!

    • Hi Susan,

Not totally sure yet since I bought it for my son as a Christmas gift. I would say probably not though - this style is cut short by design. Unless they make a style for taller guys, I'd opt out - unkess he can try one on at Dick's before buying from STP...?

    • I am 6'2" with a 35" sleeve length and 44" chest. I have this jacket in an XL and it is not too large. I suggest XL for your son.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
